Google Analytics

Connect Google Analytics to track visitor behavior on your site.

Averi's Google Analytics integration pulls traffic data from your GA4 property so you can see how visitors find and engage with your site — right inside Averi.

What You'll Need

  • A Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property connected to your website. If you're still on Universal Analytics or haven't set up GA4 yet, create a GA4 property in Google Analytics first.
  • A Google account with access to that GA4 property.

How to Connect

Google Analytics is currently in early access while we finalize approval with the Google API team. During setup you may see a notice about this — click Continue anyway to proceed. Everything works as expected.

Open Integrations

In Averi, click Settings in the bottom left, then go to the Integrations tab.

Find Google Analytics

Under the Analytics section, find Google Analytics 4 and click Connect.

Sign in with Google

You'll be redirected to Google's login screen. Sign in with the Google account that has access to your GA4 property and grant Averi permission to read your analytics data.

You're connected

Once authorized, Averi automatically connects to your GA4 property. You'll see a confirmation toast and the integration will appear as connected on the Integrations page.

Using Site Traffic

Once connected, your Google Analytics data appears under Analytics → Site Traffic in the left sidebar.

Use the date range selector in the top right to switch between Last 7 days, Last 28 days, and Last 90 days.

Summary cards

Four cards across the top give you a snapshot of your traffic:

How many people visited your site in the selected period.

First-time visitors during that window.

The average time visitors actively spent on your site.

Total number of visits — a single user can have multiple sessions.

Page views over time

Below the summary cards, an area chart shows Page views over time for the selected date range. By default it shows all sources combined — the All sources chip in the top right confirms this.

To filter the chart by a specific source, click any source in the channel cards below. The chip updates to show the selected source, and you can click the to clear the filter.

Channel breakdowns

Three cards break your traffic into channels:

Visitors coming from AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, and Copilot.

Visitors from social platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X (Twitter), and Reddit.

Visitors from search engines like Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Brave.

Each card shows sources with a bar and a percentage of that channel's traffic. Toggle between % and # in the top right of each card to switch between percentage and session count views. Click any source to filter the page views chart above.

Top traffic acquisition

A sortable table at the bottom lists your top traffic sources by Session source / medium, Sessions, and Key events. Click any column header to sort.

Tips

  • Check regularly. Reviewing your traffic weekly helps you spot trends — like a spike in AI referrals after publishing new content, or a dip in search traffic that needs attention.
  • Use channel filters. Click a source in any channel card to filter the page views chart. This makes it easy to see how a specific platform is driving traffic over time.
  • Compare date ranges. Switch between 7, 28, and 90 days to get both short-term signals and longer-term trends.
  • Disconnect anytime. If you need to remove the integration, head back to Integrations and click the disconnect icon next to Google Analytics.
